Newton High School baseball standout Lucas Poole has signed a national letter of intent with ECCC. Poole, a pitcher/outfielder, is shown dur– ing the signing ceremony with his parents, Deb– bie and William Poole of Newton, and (standing from left) Jake Yarborough, ECCC head base– ball coach, and Eddy Pierce, NHS head base– ball coach. As of this writing, Poole had a .418 batting average and was 4-3 on the mound for the Division 5-2A champions.
