New car among prizes a EC CClassic from press repom

Eizhteen teams ha'e entered the tourna– ment as of May 28. according to event orga– nizer Stacey Hollingsworth, ECCC Admim;;trative Assistant for Foundation and Alumni Relations. Hollingsworth said plans are to di'ide the field into three flights, with prizes awarded to each flight winner. Trophy will be presented to winning corporate team. Fmntier Ford in Carthage is sponsoring the hole-in-one contest on the challenging par three. 177-yard number 17. The first person to ace the hole will win the new Mustang, which will be on display at the course. Also :iCheduled is a "Drive-the-Middle" contest, sponsored by Birdies For Charity, a fundrais– er of Southern Farm Bureau Insurance. Among door prizes to be given away include a golfbag, set ofirons, dozens ofgolfballs and various other items. Prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony following t ourna– ment play. Proceeds from the one-day tournament will help fund scholarships for ECCC students. Approximately $7,000 was raised in last year's inaugural event. Scholarships were pr esented to students residing in the College's five-county district at the annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon held in May.
