DECATUR- On a night of big plays, none stood out more than a controversial 76-yard run by Northwest Mississippi Community College quarterback Ray– burn Morris whose touch– down gallop midway in the fmal stanza helped give the Rangers a 40-31 win over East Central Community College Thursday night on the Decatur campus. The victory also gave the North Division champion Rangers a 7-1 record while East Central slipped to 2-6. The Warriors will close out season action by hosting division foe Southwest Mis– sissippi Community Col– lege at 6:30 p.m. Thursday; October30. "I tell this group that we are not that far from being 6- 2," ECCC coach Terry Underwood said. "This group really isn't that bad. It's just been a couple of plays here and a couple of plays there. "The thing that makes me the proudest is they haven't quit. We could have quit against Northwest but did– n't and I have to give my coaches a lot of credit for - --=->~..,....
