Bizarre Scoring Play Helps Gulf Coast Defeat ECCC Warriors

L. May Stadium on the Perkinston campus. With about eight mmutes re– maining, GulfCoast's Chns– topher Syrrunes o f St. John lined up for a 33-yard field goal to extend his team's 19- 17 lead. only to have his ef– fort blocked by the Warriors. However. the loose pigskin was inadvertently touched by an East Central player then scooped up on the three-yard– line by Bulldog defe nder Darryl Thomas ofB iloxi who crossed the goal line for the easy score. GulfCoast would later seal the South Division victory on a 33-yard touch– down scamper by Matt Fryfogal of George County with j ust over two minutes re– maining. With the win, Gulf Coast !mproved to 2-2 over– all and 1-1 league play, while East Central fell to 1-3 and 0-2.
