Astudent advtsor would be able to utilize a portlet that provides then ccessary tools to assist students, such as students' profile infonnation and degree audit. Students wlll1n effect have their own 'page', their own password, and will be able to access information Dr. Sutphm said the total cost ofthe upgrade system m actual dollars is $482,359. He said the College ts fi– nancmg the purchase under a lease/pur– chase agreement over a five-year period with the State ofM1ssissippi as the bond– ingagem. Annual payments wtll be less than $1 06,000. Dr. Sutphm noted that most ofthe fund– ing for the pro;ect comes from technol– ogy funds appropriated by the State Leg– ISlature.
