The base clearing hit gave the Warnors a .4-~ lead, after they trailed the Lions 2-1 over the first 4 1/ 2 mrungs. "This is a big rivalry, East Central and Scooba have alwa~s been big rivals," Wtlson said. "I knew 1 had to step m because in the other two games, I haven' t done very good. I had a little extra strength today"
Warriors freshman pitcher Jim Tally picked up the win allowing two runs, unearned, on three hits Wlth two strike outs and one walk. "Jim settled down on the mound," Yarborough said. "He's a freshman and is now 2-0. He started ~:tticking it in there and getting the ball in better spots." O ay appeared to be on cruise control of EMCC in the opening four innin&o of the contest. The right hander from DeKalb High School effectively shut down ECCC's offense allowing just one run, unearned, on five hits over the open– ing innings of the game. "(O ay) did a good job in the first three or four innings," Yarborough said. "He kept the ball down and mixed up speeds." Nester went 3-for-6 at the plate for the Warriors, \>\.'lth two RBb, and Moore, catcher Jacob Townsed and Rogers each recorded RBis in the win.
