East Central squads split: South Division matchups

' The Lady Warriors rallied from a 16-point deficit at halftime before coming up short. _ • ECCC men: The Warriors won a thriller with Hinds last Monday, then lost a thriJJer three days later at Sum– mit. Against Hinds, ECCC led 44-41 at halftime on its way to a 92-88 victory. Corey Hornsby pumped in a game– high 26 points, while former Neshoba Central standout Desmond Jones scored 14. JamaaJ Martin tallied 13 for the Warriors, Demario Qualls scored 12, Brandon Mason nine, Donze) Cren– shaw eight and Kevin Bobbitt six. The Warriors also got off to a fast start at Southwest, building a 43-36 lead before falling in a 73-72 heart– breaker. Hornsby had 20 points in the loss, while Dewayne Hughes scored 19. Mason tallied nine points, Crenshaw and Qualls scored seven apiece and Bobbitt had six.

ECCC was to host Meridian Com– munity College Monday, then tum around and entertain Copiah-Lincoln Thursday. Co-Lin's women are unde– feated and nationally-ranked. Next week, East Central wraps up the regular season with a trip to Jones County Junior College on Monday (Feb. 17) and a road date at Gulf Coast Thursday (Feb. 20). • ECCC women: The Lady War– riors had little trouble with Hinds last Monday, taking a 25-point win in a 72-47 decision.
