ECCC rodeo teams wins honors at Murray State

In the women's division, Lacey Sanborn of Noxapatt'r placed first in Break Awny Roping and Natalie Tillman of Union came in seventh in the same event. East Central Community College's Rodeo Team placed among the top finishers fol– lowing competition held 1\Jov 21-23 at Murray State University in Murray,.Ky. The Warriors finished sec– ond overall and the Lad y Warriors were third in the three-day event, which included 20 tec1ms n.•present– ing the Ozark Region. Chance Smart of Varda-

man won the Bull Riding competition, and Billy Mack Kinard of West Lauderdale teamed with Daniel Moore of Nanih Waiya to cla1m the top p rize in Team Ropmg. Al!>o winning honors in the men's division were Drew Walters of Sylva Bay Academy, who placed third in Bull Riding, and Matthew Burks, who finished 10th in the event.

ECCC sweeps Pearl River East Central Community College's Warriors beat Pe~rl River 81-77 Thur~day 111 Decatur. ECCC, 6-4, got 25 points from Corey Hornsby, 14 each from Demario Qualls and Donzel Crenshaw, 10 from Brandon Mason, and eight from Desmond Jones. • EC women 65, Pearl River 56: ECCC, 7-3, got 15 points from Rita Birden, 14 apiece from Lenore Gray and Tamekia Foley, and seven from Monica Overstreet. Both ECCC teruns are off until after the Christmas b reak.
