Williams, which was set up when Warrior cornerback Pete McBride intercepted a Robtson pass at the Ranger 8 late in first-half action. Swayze was again successful on the PAT and East Central took a 21-7 halftime lead to the dressing room. Northwest m~aged the only third quarter points, as Robison found wide receiver John Harris on a 13-yard touchdown pass with 2:21 left in the period. The Rangers dosed the scoring gap to 21-20 early in the fourth period when Robison, who would com– plete the day with 236 yards passing on 39 attempts, hooked up for a second touchdown pass to Jackson, this time covering 18 yards. The PAT failed, and ECCC maintained its slim lead. The Warriors used a little trickery - via the old hook-and-lat– eral play - to extend their lead to 27-20. Warner, subbing for Stephens, fired a short pass to wide receiver Ronald Smith, Ala., who then flipped the pigskin to speedsterTitus Ryan, who raced to end zone from 37 yards out. Swayze's PAT was unsuccessful, and the Rangers would later tie the contest and claim the one-point win in overtime.

Swayze connected on both PATs. Northwest got on the scoreboard early in the sec– ond period when Robison fired a 5-yard strike to wide receiver Jamaal Jackson.
