DECATUR - If th fact that the East Central Community College LadyWarriors lost to Pearl River Thmsday night wasn't bad enough, it was the way in which they came up on the short end of a 77-75 score that had ECCC t'oach Brad I lodge most displeased. "We had the game right in our hands and did everything we wanted to do the whole game," Hodge said. "Then we didn't play with any poise for the last five min– utes." The ECCC men salvaged a split by beating the Wildcats 94-81 to snap a five– game losing streak. In the women's game, Pearl River led nearly all of the first half bt-fore a basket by Nikki LaCour with three seconds showing sent the Lady Warriors into halftime with a 35-34 advantage. You can blame poor offici– ating if you're a player, but that's just stu– pidity. I thought they were cheap calls, but

"If we step up and make free throw~ and don't turn the ball over in the last five minutes, the offensive fouls don't matter." ECCC still led 69-64 with four minutes remaining. Pearl River pulled even at 73 73 with 1:29left on a 3-pointer from Audosha Kelly. Kelly added two free throws 20 seconds later and the Lady Wildcats never trailed again.
