"They were 3-0 and nationally ranked and then lost to Pearl R1ver and Gulf Coast," ECCC head coach Terry Underwood said of the Eagles. "They've got a really good team. I think they're a lot better than they were last year. They're very athletic all over the field. Offensively and defensively, they've got great team speed and they're always well-coached . They'll be a very tough opponent."

ECCC had lost 19 straight games with Hinds before winning 25-16 last year at Raymond .

Jones dropped from No. 2 to No. 8 in the NJCAA poll following the loss to the Warriors.

"Like I told the kids, it was a great win," Underwood said. "I feel like it was one of the biggest wins in the history of the program. It's something that we'll all remember the rest of our lives. It was one that you'll cherish because we were 1-4 and they were 5-0. It was a great reward for some of the frustrating things we've had happen to us. "Hopefully, we can take that win and finish strong . We still have a chance to be 5-4 and we still have a chance at the playoffs . It's not completely out of the picture. "I've been told ever since I've been in this league that if you can beat Hinds and Jones, you've got a g reat chance at the playoffs . There's not many times you get the chance to beat both of them and we have the chance to do that. Our guys are excited , but I don't think we're up in the clouds. They know we've got a tough opponent in Hinds."
