ECCC Tennis Tennis competition lS off to a successful start for the East Central Community College Lady Warriors who are 2-0 en the young season, while the Warriors post a 1-1 mark. The 2000 campaign began en Feb. 18 with the EC women blanking visiting Holmes 9-0 and the men w.inning by a 7-2 score. Lady Warriors who regis– tered wins in singles competi– tion included Haley Chance, Courtney Cooper and Jessica Weeks, all of Forest; Apr .I Foley of Newton County; Kasey Comans of Newton County Academy; and Kristi French of Union. Warriors who won their sin– gles competition were Lee Dempsey of Louisville, Josh McNeill of Louisville, Wade Hutchison of Newton Countv, Tracy Goodin of Noxapater an'd

Tim Cager of Union. Doubles were (women) French and Cooper, Chance and Foley, Bridgette Stamper of Newton County and Brandy Burnett of Louisville, and (men) Dan Tingle of Phila– delphia and Dempsey, and Mo'\!eill and Hutchinson. The Lady Warriors defeated Pearl River 6.3 while the men fell 8-1 in competition held February 24 in Poplarville. Singles winners Were (\\omen) Chance, Cooper and French, and (men) Dempsey. Wmners in the women's dou– bles competition were Chance and Foley, Weeks and Comans, and Cooper and French. Season competition resumes March 13 when bolh squads travel to Hinds. Matches get underway at 1:30trn the Ray– mond campus. winners
