As a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the interna– tional honor society of the two-year college, Minor was a part of a water quali– ty testing study which won members of East Central's Theta Xi Chapter the presti– gious Freeman Science Award. As a part of their Honors Study Topic: In the Midst of Water: Origin and Destiny of Life, the chapter studied water from area lakes and streams near poultry processing plants in the College's district. In addition to her other activities, Minor is a member of Sigma Sigma Mu Tau, Mu Alpha Theta and the Baptist Student Union. She was selected to Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges and was recognized as a president's list scholar. She recently received the Margaret Mesal Scholarship from Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and was selected to the ECCC Hall of Fame, the highest honor a student can
