Burkes scholarship Lana Rogers (left) ofLeake Academy is the 2001 recipient of the Ann H. Burkes P hi Theta Kappa Scholarship at East Central Community College in Decatur. This scholarship was established in 1999 to honor the life and works ofAnn Hunter Burkes, a long-time East Central employee and Phi Theta Kappa sponsor. The award is p resented to a return– ing sophomore member of Theta Xi Chapter. Rogers, who will also serve as the international honor society's MSILA Regional Secretary for the 2001-2002 term, is pictured with Burkes following th e College's annual Scholarship Awards Lunch eon held on the Decatur campus.
