the East Central Community College football squad was 1: capped by the presentation of ~ various team and state honors at the annual awards banquet held Nov. 15 in Mabry Memorial Cafeteria on the Decatur cam– pus. The Warriors fi nished the season with a 6-4 overall record and were 3-3 in South Division competition. EC Jed the state in rushing offense with 247 yards per game and placed second in total offense with a 361.2-yard aver– age. In addition, the Warriors were ranked fifth in passing defense (131.5 yards per contest) and finished tenth in passing offense (114.2 yards per game~ Presenting awards were Dr. Phil Sutphin, ECCC president; Terry Underwood, head football coach; and assistants Tim Coats, Fredrick Lyons, Todd Mangum, Steve Kelly and Tommy Clopton. The Warrior staff was select– ed to coach the South squad in the annual juco All-Star football game scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday at Northeast Mississ– ippi Community College in Booneville.
