MAKES LARGEST PLANNED GIFT TO ECCC- Mrs. Libby Harrington Lynch (left) of Chicago and Hong Kong is being recognized for making the largest planned gift made public in the history of East Central Community College in Deca– tur. Mrs. Lynch, who manages the global sector of Price Waterhouse-Coopers international accounting firm, has included a $100,000 gift in her estate plans to endow a scholarship at ECCC honoring her late father, Willi e "Bill" Dallas (ECCC Class of 1936), a native of the Anti– och-House communities near Union in Neshoba County. Af– ter taking a job at White' s Auto in Union, Dallas' career included execptive posts with General Motors, as well as Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, which he helped intro– duce to the United States. After retirement, he moved from Detroit to California where he enjoyed a successful career in real estate. Mrs. Lynch said her dad's life proves that, with a quality education from East Central, "You can ~ anywhere you want to go: be anything you want to be." Mr. Dallas played basketball at EC, and Mrs. Lynch has also made a gift in his name to the College's proposed 2.5 mil– lion athletic field house. Her husband is William Lynch, an international investment banker who served en the staffs of three presidents, Nixon, Ford and Regan.
