EC establishes memorial fund for car victim A memorial fund has been establi shed at Ea t Central Commuruty College in Decatur for the family of Delbert Harrison of Newton, an ECCC staff membe.r who was killed Aug. 15 in a one-ca.r accident _outh of Decatur on Hwy. 15. Hamson, \~ho :worked in the College'~ mamtenance (l~ment, spent m~ch of his time :.ening the community, especially in areas pertaining to ydung people. He served as a little league baseball coach for many years. During his funeral sel'Vlces, he Noxapater native was eulo– g:tzed as someone who "com– bined intensity. wit and good– will to become an icon in his community." He was a lso described as having a "magnet– ic presence to young ath– letes...he had a positive·impact on many a boy." Harrison was also praised for the "love and tenderness" shown his wife, Jimmie Lynn, whom he had met when both attended East Central Community College in 1982. The devotion for his son, Del, was also mentioned. Harrison left his son "a legacy of love that will uplift him throughout life."
