Defensively, East Central had the third best rushing unit, allowing 127.9 yards en the ground per contest. Top defend– ers for the Warriors include Nichols, who placed seventh in the state with 75 solo tackles and 25 assists. He also regis– tered nine quarterb'ack sacks. Daniel followed Nichols with 71 individual stops, 27 assists and five forced fumbles. He also had 14 quarterback sacks, second best in the state. Other defensive standouts included Keys, 70 tackles, 37 assists, 12 quarterback sacks and three fumble recoveries; linebacker Anthony Thompson of Blakely, Georgia, 58 tackles and 22 as– sists; and Jimison, four iptercep– tions and three forced fUmbles. The Warrior football pro– gram is led by head coach Terry Underwood and assistant Tim Coats, Todd Mangum, Steve Kelly, Fred Lyons and Tommy Clopton.
