Receive honors

Various honors were presented to East Central Community College's Phi Theta Kappa chapter at the international honor society's annual convention recently held in Nashville, TN. Theta Xi was one of only 10 chapters to be awarded the Eichling Yearbook and Fellowship Hallmark awards, and one of 25 recipients of the Distinguished Chapter Award. Overall points earned by ECCC in the four hall– marks - ·Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship - ranked Theta Xi twelfth among all chapters participa ting in the Hallmark competition and first among organizations in the Mississippi/Louisiana

region. Individual honors were presented to Brian Shaw of Forest, Distinguished Chapter President Award; and Amy Spears of Lena, Bierkoe Distinguished Me~ber Award. Only 25 awards in each category were presented this year.
