EC students shoot for free food Six East Central Comm– unity CoJlege students wi,ll compete for the chance to win a $750 meal plan value as part of a special promo– tion sponsored by the Kellogg Company. Participants in the "Tony the Tiger Takes a Shot" event will test their basket– ball shooting skills for a chance at the grand prize during halftime activities of ECCC's South Division matchups with Copiah– Lincoln on TuesdaY- Jan. 20 in Decatur. Those selected to partici– pate will be selected from random following a campus drawing. The six contestants will then battle each other in a "shootout" event during halftime of the women's game to determine who will take the half-court shot to win the grand prize. The top pointmaker will have one chance to sink the half-court shot, scheduled during halftime of the men's game. If the student makes the shot, he or she will receive the $750 meal plan, courtesy of Kellogg and ARAMARK food · service companies. ARAMARK pro– vides food service at ECCC. Kellogg's ''Tony Takes a Shot'' is an event held nationwide and is designat– ed to create a fun, competi– tive atmosphere on college and university campuses. "Tony the Tiger'' will also be in attendance and avail– able for photos.
