coach Chuck Friend is the adminis– trative coach for the Mississippi team. Alabama holds a 6-4 lead in the series after last year's 10-6 win. • Mississippi bombs in basket– ball all-star games: During the 1997-98 basketball season, many coaches said high school basketball in general in Mississippi was as bad as they could remember it being. The Mississippi teams did nothing to disprove that 1 opinion during Satur– day's all-star games with Alabama at Mississippi College. The Mississippi boys took a 111-76 drubbing from Alabama, while the Mississippi girls lost 105-84.
