Purvis Joins ECCC Staff

Purvis, who began his duties in July, previously served as a correctional field officer with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He is also a former co-owner of CBH Microsystems of Newton. A graduat~ of Newton High School, Purvis holds an associate of arts degree from East Central Junior College and a bachelor's degree in social work from Mississippi State University, Meridian branch. He also attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He is currently seeking a bachelor's degree in business information systems a .t MSU-Meridian. He is married to the former Betty Hollingsworth who is employed as secretary for the Department of Human Services, Area IV. They have a son, Matthew Lee Purvis, a tenth grader at Newton County Academv.

R. T. Purvis, Jr., of Newton was recently named to the new position of Information Tedmology Technical Specialist at ยท East Central Community College in Decatur, announced Dr. Eddie M. Smith, College preside~t.
