Purvis Joins ECCC Staff

Purvis, who began his duties in July, previously served as a correctional field officer with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He is also a former co-owner of CBH Microsystems of Newton. A graduat~ of Newton High School, Purvis holds an associate of arts degree from East Central Junior College and a bachelor's degree in social work from Mississippi State University, Meridian branch. He also attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He is currently seeking a bachelor's degree in business information systems a .t MSU-Meridian. He is married to the former Betty Hollingsworth who is employed as secretary for the Department of Human Services, Area IV. They have a son, Matthew Lee Purvis, a tenth grader at Newton County Academv.

R. T. Purvis, Jr., of Newton was recently named to the new position of Information Tedmology Technical Specialist at · East Central Community College in Decatur, announced Dr. Eddie M. Smith, College preside~t.
