EC teams w in twice apiece at home The Warriors and Ladv Warriors of East Central Community College both had a pair of homecourt wins last week. · · • EC women 88, Bishop State 77: Sharae Brown of Scott Central scored 27 points to lead Et to Thursday's win in Decatur.

EC led by a slim 42-41 margin at halftime before outscoring Bishop 46-36 over the sec– ond 20 minutes. Wendy Mapp had 15 points for the 4-1 Lady Warriors while Krystal Courtney scored 12, Felisha Temple had 11, Sonya Pinkston tossed in eight, and Denise Chapman added ., five. Marian Tucker led Bishop with 13 while Letitia Cooper and Kristie Reed both had 12. • EC men 72, Bishop S tate 62: The Warriors pulled out to a 40-27 halftime lead and held on to take Thursday's win in Decatur. The Warriors also received a forfeit from Shelton State earlier in the day for playing a pair of ineligible players in the season open– ing Jones Tournament to improve to 5-0. Ken Russell of Newton County led EC with. 23 points. Demando Mingo scored 12, Keith Bell had nine, Courtney Jones scored eight, Ray Waddell and Lamond Bowie both had seven, and Otis Wallace added six. Michael Tucker scored 19 points to lead Bishop.

The Lady Warriorc; improved to 4-1 while the Warriors upped their record to 5-0 as they also had an earlier loss to Shelton State of Tuscaloosa, Ala., reversed due to a forfeit for using ineligible players. • EC women 72, Holmes 70: The Lady Warriors improved to 3-1 on Nov. 10 in Decatur. The game was tied 27-27 at halftime. Wendy Mapp of Newton County scored 21 points to lead EC. Sharae Brown had 18, Charissa Williams scored 13, Denise Chapman and LaShanta Lyle both had seven, and Sonya Pinkston added five points. Jennifer King led Holmes with 21. • EC men 90, Holmes 69: Choctaw Central grad Keith Bell scored 22 points to lead the Warriors to the Nov. 10 win in Decatur. EC led the Bulldogs 33-24 at halftime in improving to 3-1. Ken Russell tossed in 19 points for the Warriors. Courtney Jones added 13, Demando Mingo had 11, Ray Waddell and Otis Wallace both had eight, and Jarvis Booth scored six. Damien Perkins led Holmes, 1-2, with 20.
