Kay Thompson's dream began 13 years ago when, as a teachers assistant, she first fell in love with the smell of books and the feel of the classroom. Having dropped out of college to get married and with a child in the first grade, she loved being there. Her husband became ill and faced with uncertainties, he convinced her to go back to school to prepare for her future. At 40-plus, she was scared but credits East Central Community College and Carol Vickers boost– mg her confidence and making her feel confidant that she could, that she became well on her way toward earning her education degree.
