"GREAT STRIDES," A GREAT SUCCESS AT ECCC...Ea t Central Community College students and faculty, area businesses, friends and families recently teamed up to make "Great Strides," a walk to cure Cystic Fibrosis, a great success. The walk-a-thon was held on the ECCC Decatur campus. Cystic Fibro is i the number one genetic killer of children and young adults in this coun· try. It affects approximately 30,000 people in the United tates. Pictured are the more than SO walkers sponsored by the follow– ing East Central organizations; Association of Student l'urses, Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and Health Occupation Students ofAmerica, and area businesses. The walk-a-thon rai ed more than $1,000 to aid in financing continued research to curr the disease.
