MATH CONTEST WINNERS - East Central Community College recently hosted the Mississippi Council of Teachers of Mathema– tics District Competition for junior high students in seventh and eighth grades. There were 917 students participating from schools in the College's district, which includes Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Scott and Winston .counties. Pictured above are the winners. They are, from left, Tommy Henry (Philadelphia Middle School), first place eighth grade, son of Tom and Becky Henry of Philadelphia; Laura Watson (Winston Academy), ~econd place seventh grade, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Watson of Louisville; and Matthew Cox (Hawkins Middle School), first place seventh grade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Cox of Forest. Not pictured is Boyd Platt (Newton County Middle School), second place eighth grade, son of Boyd Williamson.
