Receives U.S. Motors Scholarship.. . Freddie Gentry (center) of Hickory was recently named the first recipient of the U. . Electrical Motors Lo$ln/ Scholarship to attend East Central Community College in Decatur. The full tuition scholarship is provided by the Philadelphia company to a qualified student enrolled in the College's Machine Shop Technology Program. As a requirement of the two-year a~ard, the scholarship recipient agrees to employ– ment with the U.S. Motors for a period of at least one year. A freshman, Gentry is a graduate of Newton County High School. His parents are J ackie and Sara Gentry of Hickory.
