ECCC to offer Vowell Memorial Scholarship Applications ore being accepted from students Inter– ested in receiving the Lovern Vowell Memorial Scholarship to attend East Central Community College In Decatur. Estab– lished in 1993 by Elizabeth, E.L. and David Vowell in memory of their husband and father. Mr. lavern Vowell. the scholar– ship is awarded each year to an entering freshman and covers the cost of tuition for two semesters. To qualify for the scholarship recipients must: major in some field of business administration; have a demonstrated need for financ ial assistance; and have a demonstrated potentia l for academic success. Preference will be g iven to applicants for the scholarship who are or have been employed by Triple V. lAc. Applicat ions for the scholarship will be reviewed by t he college's Dean of Students. Final selection of each year's recipient will be made by the college's scholarship commit– tee. ECCC to hold Hosa Co-ed Softball gala The second annual Hosa Co-ed Softball Jamboree will be held on Saturday. March 25 at the softball complex in Union beginning at 8 a .m. There will be an entry fee and it will be a double elimination tournament. There will also be face painting. a silent auction. blood pressure screening. and fin– ger painting of children. A concession stand will a lso be available. The event sponsored by the East Central Community Col– lege Hosa and Paste Clubs.
