ECCCwomen maul NECC By Albert Crowther The Mendran Star DECATUR - Fans who turned out to see the Mississippi Junior College State Tournament Monday saw plenty of offense. The host East Central Lady Warriors moved into the finals of the tow-nament by knocking off Northeast 107-80. East Central, the South Division Champion. improved to 22-5 with the win. Northeast, the North Division run– nerup, dropped to 18-10. The Lady Warriors came out run– ning, jumping out to a 56-36 halftime advantage. "They were pressing all over the floor and because of foul trouble I was forced to go with a smaller lineup,"ECCC coach Sammy Pace said. "Our guards are quick and we were able to score." In other tournament action Monday, the Copiah-Lincoln men defeated Holmes 84-82, the Pearl River men edged Northeast 108-105 in overtime and the Northwest women rolled past Pearl River 75-65. East Central will face Northwest in the finals today at 6 p.m. and the Pearl River men will take on Co-Lin at 8 p.m. See East Central, Page 58
