Community College Warriors trailed Gulf Coast almost the whole game Tuesday in the Region 23 junior college basket– ball tournament, held at Mississippi College. And although ECCC man– aged to get to within two points on a tip-in at the buzzer, it could not avoid suffering a 70- 68loss to the Bulldogs. The East Central women remained alive in the tourna– ment., outlasting Holmes Community College in overtime, 88-87. The Lady Warriors will face Nmthwe:,t today at 6 p.m. The Warriors finished the season at 23-5. "We had our chances in the second hlllf," ECCC coach Marty Cooper said. "We didn't make the plays. We made a cou– ple of mistakes late but they were aggressive mistakes, unlike the fll'St half" The Warriors tied the game at 14-14 with an Anthony Coleman basket with 14 min– utes left in the first half.
