Bowen Announces · East Central Signees 1

Last season lhe East Central Com– munjty College Warriors were only a few pointS away from claiming a sLate title. Wilh lhe recent signing of nine outStanding athletes, Coach Jay Bowen said he plans to better t11e Warriors' 1990-9 1 record of 21-6 and once again challenge for champ– ionship honors. Bowen, set to begin his lhird year as men's basketball coach, has announced the signing of seven in– district players and two out-of– staters. Area roundballers who have inked scholarships for 1991 -92 include

Greg Vance, a 6'1" 160-pound guar from Newton County Academy Calvin Patrick, a 5'8" 165-poun point guard and Daniel Blount. 6'6" 215-pound forward/center, bo from Sebastopol; Daniel Young blood, a 6'3" 190-pound forwar and Undre Thomas, a 6 '1' 175-pound guard, both from Forest, Matthew Riley, a 6' 150-pound point guard from Soutll Leake; and Chr'U Harris, a 6' !55-pound guard from Morton. Out-of-state signees include Rob– gcrt Mikelll, a 6'7" 200-pound forward/center from Richmond Hill High School in Richmond, GA and Harold Scott, a 5' 10" 150-pound point guard from Bolton High School in Arlington, TN. Returning squad members are Tony Bailey, a 6'5" 190-pound guard from Villa Rica High Schodl in Villa Rica, GA; Willie Jacobs, a 5'10" !55-pound point guard from Vanguard High School in Ocala, R.; Lulher Riley, a 5' 11" 155-pound for– ward from Soutll Leake; Mark Stri– bling, a 6' 160-pound forward and Vandy Hopson, a 6'6" 190-pound forward , bolh from Philadelphia; and J.P. Viverette, a 6'6" 190-pound for– ward fromSebastopol.
