Wood Coliseum. So many chances to win. Just enough troubles to keep them from doing it. Things like turnovers. ECCC was officially charged with 16. Following a time out, Holmes killed the fmal 18.8 seconds as ECCC did not foul for some un– known reason. ECCC ended its season at 13-9 after making its third-straight regional appearance. "I'm pleased with my kids," Pace added. "They're a good bunch of kids. I'm going to look forward to having the freshmen back next year and I'm sure going to miss the sophomores." Boatman and Nash each finished with 20 points, while Lowe had 15, and Oakley eight. Boatman also had 14 rebounds, while Nash had seven assists. Nash hit six 3-pointers (in 14 attempts), while Boatman was only 10-of-30 from the field. Wingard led Holmes with 31 points and 12 re– bounds, while Greer had 24 points. Nash hit two 3-pointers, while Beverly Ware added another as ECCC rallied for a 54-53 lead a! the 7:28 mark. Wingard hit two free shots to give Holmes, the MJCA Tournament champion. a 55-54 lead before ECCC went on an eight-point run. Shea Oakley and Tammie Rigdon each had a free throw and a field goal, while Lo·.~.·c added a basket. Leading 62-55 with 4:38 to go, ECCC twned the ball over on three straight possessions as Holmes fought to within 62-60. Lowe added four points to extend the lead to 66-60 with 2:28 left, but four more ECCC turnovers enabled Holmes to tie the game at 66-66 with I:33 left. Two baskets by Boatman gave Et:CC a 70·69 lead following a 3-pointer by HCC's Sonya Hol– mes. A basket by Greer with 53.6 seconds left gave Holmes its final one-point lead. Greer missed a one-and-one \Vith 20.5 seconds showing, but a tie ball resulted with Holmes getting ball possession.
