Warriors Road wins are usually tough to earn in community college basketball com– petition and such was the case for both East Central teams following South Division action Monday , J anuary 28 at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville. For the East Central men, their 81-74 loss was especial1y critical as they not only saw their nine-game win streak come to an end but the War– riors also lost a share of the division lead with Gulf Coast, which escaped " 1th a 60-57 win over Southwest the samw night. However, East Central, now 16-4 overall and 6-2 in league competition, is still very much alive in the div· ion race with four games left to;Pia,Y.

The Lady Wa rriors' 78-72 defeat was also a crucial blow, as they fell to 10~ and 4-4. But the East Cent women are still in a tight battle for se– cond place honors with several squads and, like the men, have four games re– maining in the 1990-91 schedule. In the men's game with Jones, Tony Bailey was the top pointmaker with 2 points. Carolyn Boatman led the Lady War– r ior attack as she pumped in 22 poin . Other pointmakers were Paula Nash, 21 ; Shontel Lowe, eight; Shea Oakley seven; Tanya Stowers a nd Jackie Gladney, four each; and Tam– wie Rjgdon, two. 'I'lre score was tied 39-39at halftime.
