Mrs. Parkes served as a graduate assistant/graduate counseling lab director at Delta State University in Cleveland. She also served as secretary of the Student Government Association. She is married to Luke Parkes of Philadelphia where they are mem– bers of Beacon Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Parkes is the daughter ofMr. and Mrs. Charles Rushing of Phi– ladelphia and Mr. and Mrs. Mooney Lee of Preston. Tammy Lee Parkes of Philadel– phia has been selected counselor at the Philadelphia-Neshoba County Vocational-Technica l Center, announced Dr. Eddie M. Smith, president of East Central Communi– ty College, Decatur which operates the facility. Mrs. Parkes, 25, will begin her new duties on August 1. Her employment was earlier approved by the college's Board ofTrustess. She previously served as counselor{UlStructor at Claiict> Cot– lege in Newton. a post s~llas held since 1989.
