Phi Theta Kappa initiates These East Central Community College students from Nashoba County are among those recently tapped for member– ship by Theta XI Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, a national scholastic organization for community and junior college students. Membership in the honor society is by invitation only. To be eligible, freshmen must have at least a 3.4 grade point average and sophomores are required to maintain at least a 3.3 GPA. According to sponsors Dr. Shelby Harris and Mrs. Ann Burkes, the purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is "to promote scholarship, develop character and cultivate fellowship among academically superior students."
