Neshoba Seniors Awarded $104,600 in Scholarships
•'esboba Central High School seniors received $104,600 in scholar– ships awarded by various colleges, universiues and busmesses. Students receivmg scholarships from East Central Community Col– lege for a total of $35.400 are: Mark Adams, Wes Breazeale, ~llen Chesney, Kirt Doss, Brandy George, Jennifer Gray, Nikki Grif– fm Sheila Griffith Kim Hanna, Devlm Huffman. Jtll Jones, Shay ~ones, Shoo Kirkland. Clark Reynolds, · Robertson, Patty Sims, Barry \\ard. StephanieWarren and Rochet Wells for band; Ocean Moore and Brandy White for cheerleader ; Brooke Smith, Becky White, Misty Wright, Jerry :welch and Tyrone Collier for athletic scholarships. Ktm Smith, Bart Moore and Heather Simmons will receive $5,600 m band scholarships from Jones Count) Junior College. ACf scholarships were awarded n the amount of $29,400 to the follow– mg seniors: Amy Apperson, Brooks Barrier, Toni Breland, Belinda Brown, Ricky Cook, Cindy Eakes, ~fandy Ellingburg, Cindy Ferguson, Philadelphia High School seniors received $91,200 in aca demic scholarships. The scholarships were awarded by various colleges, universities, clubs and businesses. Students receiving scholarships from East Central Community Col– lege are llryan Booker, $400; Kevin Fedrick, $400; and Ronny Joyner, Sl,200. Amy Barnett received a $1,500 honors scholarship to Mississippi College. Janice Billing was award– ed a $5,000 Academic Excellence Scholarship to Mississippi State University and the Kappa Kappa lot& Scholarship for $100. Johnny Burnside received the Col– lege Presidential Scholanhip to Tougaloo College for $2S,OOO. Jamel

Other scholarships awarded are: Mississippi State University for $5,000 to Doug Lundy ; Rotary Scholarships for $500 and Shelter Insurance for $1,000 to Cin– dy Ferguson; Wal-Mart Scholarship for $1,000 to Nicole Flint; VICA Club by East Central Com– munity College for $1,600 to Tim Chesney ; FFA to Darryl Bryan for $1,200; Young Woman of the Year Scholarships were awarded to Kim Smith, Sharon McCown and Tracy Strickland for $1,100 ; and Jackson State University Scholarships to Stacie Johnson, Rochet Wells and Melissa Adams for $22,800. Foster received a $2,000 scholarship for an Entering Freshman Award. Graham Hamill received the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship for $1,500. Lee Lewis received the Young Woman of Achievement Scholarship for $1,500. Tammy McNair received the Business and Professional Women's Cluh Scholarship for $100. Michael Miles received the Kelly Gene Cook Sr. Foundation Award for $12,000. J erremey Willis received the Col– lege Presidential Scholarship to Tougaloo College for $26,000. William Yates received the Hearin-Hess Business Scholarship to The University of Mississippi for $12,000 and a Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship for $1,500.
