In the area of instruction. Or. Brad Tucker, dean of instruction, reported on the coUege·s extend~ use of a substitute chem1stry m· slructor. Dr. Tucker said Myron D. Hutson, former instructor at Mississippi University for Women and East Mississippi Commumty College, has been . serving .as substitute teacher dunng the spnng semester for Or. Richard Fisher, who has taken leave because of family matters. Hutson recently served as _a research chemist at the Umverstty of Mississippi Pharmacy ~h~l. He holds a bachelor's degree m sc1ence from the University of Central Florida and a mas ter's degree in biochemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi. Concerning budget and finance. board members approved the fman· caal statement and docket of claims for January 1991. as presented b} business manager Harvey Trapp. Trapp presented a_ mid-y_ear analysis report and deta1led vanous ~ budget adjus tments due to a ~hort· fall in revenue. Over $30,000 m the current fiscal year budget i~ bet~g slashed because of reductions m state funding. The bus iness manager also reported on the investment of ac– cumuJated funds for the penod Jan 17 1991 through July 16. 1991 Trapp sa'id th~ funds have been invested at the Citizens Bank of Philadelphaa which was high bad· der with 6.850 percent. In other business-related matters. the board agreed to continue the co!· lege's contract with _Carleton 0•1 Company, Inc. of Umon to supply - petroleum products from Jan. 1, 1991 through June 30, 1991 Carleton _ offe~ed the lowest bid and agreed to provide regular unleaded gasohne at $.7620 per gallon and diesel fuel - at $.8020 per gallon. Trustees also gave approvalto.ex· pend available enlargement and tm· provement funds to complete _the furnishing of the mathematics· science computer laboratory under the college's Major Maintenance Plan.
