Lady Warriorswin aga· East Central Community College's Lady Warriors won their fifth straight contest against no losses as they easily defeated visiting Mary Holmes 119-82 in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building Friday night. Under fifth-year coach Sam– my Pace, the EC women have posted victories over Selma University (85-53), Concordia (93·29), East Mississippi (82·60), Lawson State (88-54), and Mary Holmes (119·82). Lawson State were Tyrone Stowers, 32; Travis Watkins. 19; Michael James, 18; Tyrone Bender, nine; Terry Thames, five; Charlie Donnerson and Mark Gates, four each; and Kelvin Young, three.

The East Central men, led by first-year head coach Jay Bowen, outscored Concordia (96-67), and have been defeated by Southern (Alabama) (99·87), East Mississippi (80·76), Lawson State, (103·94), and Mary Holmes ~71·69). In the Lady Warriors' win over Mary Holmes, Tuttie Ed– wards was the leading scorer as she pumped in 20 points. Other EC pointmakers were Sadie Triplett, 16; Carol Boat– man. 12; Shea Oakley and Paula Nash, each with 10 points; Lisa Stephens, nine; Shontel Lowe, eight; Kristy McDougle, seven; Beverly Ware, six; Ashley Harkins, five; Kristy Holland, Victoria Banks, Tonya Stowers and Marcell Gray, four each. Tyrone Bender and Kelvin Young paced the Warriors against Mary Holmes as they each tallied 14 points. Other EC pointmakers were Travis Watkins and Charlie Donnerson, nine each; Mark Gates and Michael James, six each; Tyrone Stowers, five; Eric Mays and Terry Thames, three each. The Warriors rallied from a 15-point first half deficit but their efforts fell just short as they were edged by the Mary Holmes Men 71·69 and suf· fered their fourth loss on the young season. In games this week, East Central squads will journey to Holmes Community College in Goodman Thursday, November 16 and will host East Mississippi team Satur– day, ~ovember 18. Game times are 6:00 and 7:45. The Warriors will participate in a tourna– ment at Jones Junior College scheduled November 20-21.
