Heather Weidler Chosen ECCC's Most Beautiful
Mississippi and Thp 10 finalist in the Miss America Pageant; and John Williams, also of Hattiesburg, who is Administrative Assistant with the Office of Student Orientation and Retention at the University of Southern Mississippi. Entertainment was provided by East Central students Brian Wad– dell and Emily Graham, both of Philadelphia, and Tara VanDevender of Union. EC English instructor Ovid Vickers served as master of ceremonies and music instructor Leesa Lee was pageant coordinator. The annual pageant is sponsored by the Wo-He-Lo (yearbook) staff.
A sophomore biological science major was selected East Central I· Community College's Most Beautiful during the school's annual pageant held Nov. 16 in Huff Auditorium. Heather Weidler, daughter of Bur– ma and Rober t Weidler of Deca tur, was crowned the college's top beau– ty by Dr. Eddie M. Smith, school president. Named Most Handsome, as selected by a vote of the student body, is Chris Platt of Keithville, Louisiana. Platt, son of Mr. and Mrs. David P latt, is a graduate of Grawood Chr istian Academy. He is a sophomore majoring in liberal arts. Miss Weidler, a graduate of Decatur High School, is a member of various clubs and organizations at East Central includingPhi Theta Kappa, national honorary society ; Mu Alpha Theta, an organization for students interested in mathematics; and the Warrior Corps, which is composed of select students who assist in recruiting and serve as hosts and hostesses for college ac– tivities and events. She also serves as yearbook editor and a Diamond Girl and is a member of the Cen– tralettes, the dance line for the school's marching band. Miss Weidler also participates in in– tramural sports. Beauties chosen include Kristi Patrick and Kim Alford, both of Car– thage; Kimberly Hobby of Louisville; and Karen Valentine of Newton. Miss Patrick, daughter of Ann and Jeff Sanders and Thmmy Patrick, is a graduate of Leake Academy. Rounding out the top 10 were Lea Ann Allen, daughter of Charles and J udy Allen of Philadelphia; Debby Tidmore, daughter of James and Sylvia Tidmore of Meridian; Randy Baugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Baugh of Morton; Michalle Everett, daughter of Sandy and Marcia Everett of Hickory ; and Buffy Reeves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Reeves of Decatur.
