Kilpatrick signs 30 new Warriors By Marty Stamper Special to The Star DECATUR - East Central Community College has added a total of 30 new football player s for the 1989 season, coach A.J. Kilpatrick has announced. "We're pleased with recruiting, " Kilpatrick said. "We have missed some guys in the district to senior colleges, but there are some with ACT scores we hope to get back." Of the 30 signed, 19 are from the school 's five-county district. Staying close to home are Decatur High School's Wesley Barrett, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound tackle, and 5-foot-8, 150-pound wide receiver David Savell. Also from Newton County is 5-10, 202-pound defensive lineman Dudley Walker from Newton High School. From Neshoba County is 6-2, 240-pound center Jody Crenshaw from Neshoba Central High School. From Winston County are Louisville High School's Zedrick Cistrunk, a 6-3, 215-pound offensive lineman, and Nanih Waiya 's Sean Holdiness, a 6-3, 2oo-pound quarterback-punter. Kilpatrick signed four players from Forest High School in Scott County. They are quarterback Anthony "Pee Wee" Jones (5-10, 165), tackle Kyle Wilkerson (6-2, 225) , fullback Mike Holifield (5-10, 207), and guard Larry Reed (5-10, 195). Other Scott County incoming freshmen are defensive end Larry Ickom (6-1, 210) of Class 2A state champion Lake High School, center Chad Driskell (6-3, 240 ) from Scott Central High School, and the Mor– ton High School trio of 6-2, 225-pound center Jimmy Brown; 5-8, 225-pound fullback-linebacker Lee Stuart; and 5-10, 170-pound tailback-strong safety Jerry Ficklin. Leake County signees are 6-1, 200-pound center Brent Bailey; 5-10, 1 190-pound linebacker Gary Luckett ; and 5-11, 190-pound linebacker Jamie Slaughter, all from Carthage High School; and 6-3, 250-pound tackle Michael Beasley from Edinburg High School. Among the out-of-state signees as of Tuesday are offensive lineman Bobby Kornegay (6-3, 230) and defensive back Lewis Parker (5-11, 190) from Bibb County, Ala.; nose guard Dynassus Buggs (5-11, 220) and defensive back Haynes Petty (6-1, 180) from Tuscaloosa

"We were pleased with spring training," Kilpatrick added. "If we get ar these recruits, we can line up and play pretty good football."
