ECJC ALUMNUS PRESENTS AWARD S. Lebron Hutchison, second from left, an East Central Junior Col– lege alumnus and founder of the school's Engineering Club, is shown presenting an Achievement Award plaque named in his honor to Dr. Eddie M. Smith, ECJC President, while Dr. Shelby Harris, Chairman, Division of Science and Mathematics, looks on. The award is presented annually during Awards Day and is given to a student "for achieve– ment in engineering". For winning the award, the student is also presented with a calculator. Mr. Hutchison, a native of Philadelphia who formerly worked with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, helped organize the AAE Engineering Club at East Central in the fall of 1947 and served the organization as vice president. The award has been given the past two years but this is the first time a plaque has been presented which will display the award winners at East Central Junior College. (ECJC Photo)
