The East Central Junior College Warriors and Warriorettes opened their 1984-85 basketball season at home on November 5 against Meri-– dian Junior College. ~ The Warriorettes fell in a close game to the Lady Eagles 79-71. At the half the Lady Eagles held the War– riorettes 44-32. Putting 23 points on the board for ECJC was Joy Eichelberger of Louisville, followed by Karen Miller of Louisville with 14 points, and Beverly Chambers of Lena with 11 points. High scorers for the Lady Eagles were Dian Clayton, Jenellie Miller, and Antionette Diggs with 18 points each. ·In the second game of the night, the Warriors took the Eagles 81-65. The Warriors hustled ahead of the Eagles throughout the game with a halftime score of 42-23. Ricky Griffith of Ashland, KY led the Warriors with 15 points, followed by Michael Mills of Helena, AK with 14 points, and Kenny Morgan of Morton with 11 points. High scorers for MJC were Ken Brown with 16 points, Alvin Oliver with 15 points, and Chris Daley with 14 points.
