Clarke led at halftime 45-26. In the loss to Clarke, East Central was without the services of Mellissa Jimmer- ,on of Louisville, the team's leading ;corer, who is nursing an injury. Gary Anderson, a 6-foot guard from Brent, Alabama led with Warrior attack on Clarke with 16 points. Also scoring were Byrne Drummond of Houston, Texas, 14; Arness Georgetown of Pla- quemine, Louisiana, 12 and Terry Hoskins of Philadelphia, 10. The Clarke women avenged an earlier 87-67 loss to East Central, and East Cen- tral men also earned revenge having fallen 72-70 in the November I I contest. The win was extra nice for Gressett, who :ormerly coached at Clarke. In other games last week, East Cen- ral also split victories with Utica and ' 1 inds. Against homestanding Utica I Thursday, January 22, the Lady War- 1 - a i o r s were defeated 86-62 while the men won 99-92 in overtime. In the Monday, anuary 19 games with visiting Hinds, he Lady Warriors won 76-74 but the Warriors were defeated 90-85. In games this week, East Central will :ravelto Pearl River Thursday, January 19 and host Utica Tuesday, February 3.

East Central Junior College split games at Clarke College Saturday, January 24, with the Lady Warriors fall- ing 92-71 and the Warriors winning 68-62. Following the contest, East Central women fell to 7-9 for Coach Sammy Pace while Coach Larry Gressett's squad improved to 5-13. The Clarke women bettered their season record to 5-10 and the men dropped to 4-21. Both teams are coached by Josh Butler. Regina Amos of Union led the Lady Warriors in scoring with 28 points. Other pointmakers were Tracy Stuart, 01 NeshxTCentral, 10; Wynne Stribling of Carthage, Barbara Jones of Lake, and Delois Griffin of South Leake, 6 each and Paula Harrison of Beulah Hubbard, 5.
