Shelby Harris of' Decatur has been chosen by the East Central Junior College Alumni Association to receive the 1983- 84 Distinguished Faculty Award. Dr. Harris has taught mathematics at East Ce tral since 1963, which places h k in his twenty-first year. His former students have excelled as engineers, as mathematics teachers, and in many other fields of mathematics. Before coming t o East Central, he held teaching positions with the Newton Coun- ty Schools and the Kemper Coun- ty Schools.
