Energy Grani East Central Junior Colleg was recently awarded an Energ Conservation Grant for $279,645 t the Mississippi Department ( Energy and Transportation. Th money will be used to upgrade tb energy conservation capabilities ( buildings on the ECJC campus. total of 61 such improvements wi be distributed among 18 building with an average per building cost I $10,416.39, $92,150 being withhel to fund an Energy Managemer System. All buildings presently in nee will get storm windows, weather- stripping, and retrofit lighting. Tw- buildings (Todd Hall and Croc Hall) will benefit by new boilers and three by conversion to natur ' gas heating. Automitic ignitic devices, AC motor speed controls, and boiler remote controls several buildings, solar screens Leake Hall, and a destratificatic fan in the Agriculture/Technolog Building are among the othc imporvements implemented by th money. While these measures w contribute to increased comfort the classrooms, offices, and res dence halls, they will also sal approximately $4,000 per month c energy costs for ECJC.
