WANDA SISTRUNK Wanda Sistrunk Wins Scholarship Wanda Lyn Sistrunk, a 1983 graduate of Edinburg High School, has been awarded a full tuition scholarship at East Central Junior College. East Central makes this scholarship available to the valedictorian of each high school in the district. The scholarship would amount to $780 for four semesters provided the student maintains a Baverage. At Edinburg High, Lyn was president of her senior class, vice president of her junior class, editor of the annual, and student council repre– sentative. A member of the Beta Club, E-Club, and FHA for four years, she was president of both the Beta Club and FHA her senior year. Lyn was a basketball standout ·at Edinburg, being named All Conference for two years. The recipient of the $1,000 Carthage Corporation Scholarship, she received the Senior Math, Democracy, and Chemistry awards. Other academic aW;ards during high school inclilde English I, Home Economics, Miss. His– tory, Algebra II, Office Practice and Bookkeeping awards. Lyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Sistrunk of Philadelphia and plans to major in pre-nursing at East Central.
