Hillie Signs With ECJC

Lenzie Hillie (center), a standout during the past two seasons for Coach John Williams' (left) Newton High Tigers, has inked a basketball scholarship to play for the East Central Junior College Warriors during the 1986-87 year. While at Newton High School, Hillie averaged 14 points per game during his senior year and 'was selected Best Offensive Player in both his junior and senior years: He was also chosen Most Athletic Boy in his junior and senior years. In addition to basketball, Hillie participated in

track, winning the 3A State Championship in the 330 yard Intermediate Hurdles during his junior year. Lenzie has also been the recipient of the "Tiger Award" for the last two years. This award is presented to the athlete who best exemplifies the true athlete spirit of the school. The son of Jack and Sudie Hillie, Lenzie will prove to be a valuable asset to Coach Larry Gressett's (right) ECJC Warriors.
