EMJCLions Defea t ECJC Warriors The East Central Junior College Warriors and Warriorettes were defeated by the Lions of East Mississippi J unior College in the first action East Centr al has seen since December 12. The Warrioret– tes were defeated by the Lady Lions 63-46. The Warriors lost 90-80. Jo Ann Earnest of Forest was the only double figure scorer for the Warriorettes with 12 points. The Warriors were tied with the Lions at half-time, but East Mississippi pulled out the lead to win late in the game. Four players scored double figures for the Warriors. Joe Kennamer of New Hope, AL Jed with 21 points, Ken Eiland of Louisville had 18, Mike Shirley of Morton had 13 and Eddie Griffin of Walnut Grove had 10. The Warriors and Warriorettes were on the road on J anuary 7 traveling to Southwest Junior coUege at Summit. Both of the Warrior teams were triumphant over the Southwest Bears. The Warriorettes defeated the Lady Bears 54-45. The Warriors went into overtime for their win over Southwest, 87-83. Three of the Warriorettes scored double figures. Stephanie Town– send of Lena led with 17 points, while Pam Coleman of Carthage had 13 and Earnest 10. Shirley led the Warriors with 24, while Kennamer followed with 16 and Kenneth Gilliland of Louisville bad 12. The W arriorettes remain unde– feated in South Division play. The nen home lit&me will be Monday, January 18 when East Central teams host Copiah-Lincoln Junior College.
