One hundred and eighty-four East Central Junior College students are candidates for graduation at the Spring Commencement Exercise to be held at 8 p.m. May 22 at the Warrior Football Stadium. In case of rain the ceremony will be moved to the Huff Memorial Auditorium. Guest speaker for the commence- ment exercise will be Dr. C.E. Holladay, a native of Newton County and state superintendent of education. Dr. Holladay received his Bachelor's Degree from Mississippi College, Master's Degree from George Peabody College, Doctorate of Education from the University of Mississippi and Honorary Doctorate from Mississippi College. He was selected as "1979" Educational Administrator or the Year." He has served as past president of Council of the Public Schools System of Mississippi, Adult Education Divis- ion of Mississippi Education Association, and Mississippi Se- condary School Principals Associa- tion. By virtue of the office which he now holds, he is chairman of the State Board of Education and the' Junior College Commission-and is a member of the Council of Chief State School Officers, the Public Employees' Retirement System Board, the State Library Board, the Surplus Property Procurement Com- mission, ETV Board of Directors, and board for the Mississippi School for the Blind and Mississippi School for the Deaf.
