Miss Wood chosen coacl. Miss Lucille Wood,
Coach of the Year award; the Minor Coach of the Year award and the Margaret Wade Trophy award to the Outstanding college woman basketball player.
Since 1966 when women·~ basketball was organized or a limited basis, Miss Wood'i teams have achieved a 116 52 record. They were State Champions in 1970, 1973, and 1976. In 1976 they were North Division champs and in 1977 placed second in the State.
women basketball coach at East Central Junior College was selected to be coach of the South All-Star team along with Sue Ross of· Gulfcoast Junior College. This is the first year for the women to have a women's Junior College All-Star Team. Miss Wood is a native of Louisville, where she grad– uated from high school. She holds the A.A. Degree from East Central Junior College and the B.S. and M.A. Degrees from the Univer– sity of Southern Mississippi. Miss Wood has been chosen one out of 22 fina– lists in the Nation for the Stayfree Junior-Community College Coach of the Year award which will be pre– sented in April in New York along with the major college
